Fixed-term employees are discriminated under Polish law – ruled the Court of Justice of the European Union

In a recent judgment in Nierodzik v. Independent Public Psychiatric Hospital Health Care Centre in Choroszcza of 13 March 2014 (case C-38/13), the Court of Justice of the European Union ruled that the rigid, two weeks' notice in the case of a contract of employment for a specified period is inconsistent with European Union law. It requires the Polish legislator to implement necessary changes in the regulations of the Labour Code.
